Fund Transfers That Are Not Permissible:
- Research Foundation (RF) to Stony Brook Foundation
- Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR) to Stony Brook Foundation
- State to Stony Brook Foundation
Fund Transfers That Are Allowed:
Transfer from Stony Brook Foundation to Research Foundation (RF) or Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR)
Submit an Avid Transaction to transfer funds from an SBF account to an RF or IFR account.
Provide an explanation of why the transfer is justified by the account description. An authorized signer on the account must approve payment in Avid.
Transfer from SBF to SBF
All fund transfer requests from an SBF department account to another SBF department account must be made on the Team Dynamics (TDX) system here: Fund Transfers.
For transfers involving SBF-managed grant accounts, there are additional criteria that departments should be aware of.
SBF cannot facilitate transfers from any SBF account into grant accounts. In most instances, transfers from SBF grant accounts to other SBF accounts are also not permitted.
If you need to cover an expense using a grant account but are unable to process the expense directly from that account, and the expense aligns with the fund purpose, please submit a Permissible Spend ticket in TDX. This will allow our team to review the request and determine whether any compliant transfer or payment options are available.
